Baby and family photography in Kensington, London

Recently I travelled to Kensington, SW London for a baby and family photography session of Marianne with her proud parents.

At only 10 weeks old, Marianne was an absolute pleasure to photograph. She was extremely bright and alert with a beautiful smile that melted the heart. We started off indoors where I captured images of the family playing together with mum and dad singing songs to Marianne, and also some more intimate moments with plenty of cuddles and love.

Despite earlier rain and the threat of some more from the clouds above, we decided to brave the chilly weather and headed outside for some quick family portraits in the local private gardens, also showing the fabulous architecture of Kensington to set the scene. After a few minutes, and with Marianne drifting off to sleep, the anticipated rain began to fall again so we returned inside for some dreamy shots of baby asleep.

Location portrait session – Child photography London, Kent & Essex

Remember before the weather turned cold and snowy? It wasn’t that long ago as can be seen in this image taken as part of a location portrait session of two brothers in a local country park close to their home in Kent.

What I love most about these location photography sessions is that they give children the chance to be themselves, run around, have fun and forget that I’m there, which of course means I can capture their true personalities. This image was taken right at the end of the session after 2 hours of fun and games, the boys playfully announced that they were tired and plonked themselves down on the nearest bench to rest….for a whole 30 seconds before jumping up and tearing off again!

Fun pet portrait session – Pet photography London, Kent, Essex, Surrey

Here’s an image from a fun pet photography session with an American Cocker Spaniel. This young lady was a real clown and seemed to relish the chance to make me laugh by rolling on her back and wagging her tail, standing on her two back legs whilst yapping, and putting her two front paws over her nose as if to cover her eyes.

Dog and cat photography sessions are always tremendous fun, and can be equally challenging for both photographer and the ‘model’, but as I bring the studio to the clients home the pets are nearly always relaxed and at their natural best.

Free baby / child / family photogaphy sessions

For a short time we are able to offer some free baby, child or family photography sessions.

We can come to your home with our mini studio, or maybe you’d prefer making the most of our marvelous British summer time (!) and fancy dodging the showers in an outdoor session which are always great fun [no matter what the weather].

So if you have recently had a new baby arrive in the family, know someone else who has, or maybe think it’s about time to have a family portrait taken please get in touch as soon as possible as sessions will take place on a first come first served basis.

Say hello to Liv. We had a fantastic, fun, home photo session starting off with the white background to burn off her energy, then moved on around the house so she could show me all her toys, ending with a tea party on the steps by the back door, by which time I think we were both fit to drop!

Ruby, baby photography at home in Kent.

Newborn baby photography in Kent

This is 3.5 week old Ruby, who really did not want to sleep for me! There are so many great images from this session that it is difficult to choose which ones to show, but here’s a small selection.

Newborn baby photography sessions are normally best timed for when baby is around 5-10 days old, before they start to be more awake and alert.

Children Wanted! – Natural light photography Kent

We are looking for 10 children aged 3 – 10 years old to take part in outdoor mini photo sessions within the next few months. The sessions will be free, and each child will receive a complimentary 10″x8″ black and white print.

The sessions will take place at various outdoor locations around the Gravesend area of Kent and you will need to make your own travel arrangements to and from the location.

Baby Jack – Newborn photography Kent

This is Jack. Just 8 days old and already has such a great personality! He really knows what he does and doesn’t like and kept one eye on me the whole time! I’m really looking forward to returning for future sessions and watching Jack grow. Many thanks to his wonderful mum and dad for allowing me to introduce Jack to the world.
